NATURAL PLACES
‘BOB’S LAKE’
2350 Petefish Drive
The 32,000-square-foot reflecting pool
is in front of the Robert J. Dole Institute
of Politics in the West District. The
water feature, which includes a floating
fountain, is architecturally reminiscent of
Washington, D.C.’s Tidal Basin. A gift of
Polly Bales of Logan Kansas, it has been
nicknamed “Bob’s Lake” in honor of Bob
Dole, who rose to national prominence as
U.S. Senate majority leader and was the
1996 Republican presidential nominee.
