JAYHAWK NEST
The Ascher Family Plaza
In this newest addition to the plaza’s
sculptures, a large Jayhawk presides
over a nest of fledglings, representing
the future flocks of students yet to
carry on the KU legacy.
Relaxing in its nest and peeking
out from the entryway window
of Jayhawker Towers, this big bird
has a charming, handmade look.
“MARDI GRAS ON
THE KAW HAWK”
Lied Center of Kansas
This brightly patterned, technicolor
Jayhawk greets folks entering the
Lied Center. This “Jayhawks on
Parade” original, painted by Janet
Perkins, is a perfect example of what
happens when you ask talented local
artists to let loose their KU spirit.
BABY JAY
Adams Alumni Center and
Jayhawk Welcome Center
The most adorable statue on campus
celebrates our joyous and fun-loving
Baby Jay. Perfect for selfies and other
photo ops, Baby Jay welcomes all
who visit campus with a cheerful
stance and outstretched wings to
warm hearts and conjure smiles.
